Nicole & Alex were married this past Saturday at Planterra Conservatory, a lush greenhouse just outside of Detroit that was full of greenery and gorgeous sunlight streaming in through it’s frosted glass roof. They said their I do’s under an arbor dripping with hanging white florals, while Nicole’s bridesmaids cried happy tears in the background. The vows that Nicole and Alex exchanged were so sweet and moved their family seated in the first few rows to tears as well. Nicole and Alex have a special love that was evident just by looking on the smiles on their faces during the day. These two had been dating long distance since Alex is in the Air Force and you could just tell how excited they were to finally be together and become husband and wife.
Before the ceremony, Alex & Nicole had their first look, where they saw each other for the first time in the courtyard at The Inn at St. John’s, where they both got ready and were having the reception that evening. It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the first look and when you see the photos from Nicole & Alex’s, you’ll see why! Alex was so taken aback by Nicole’s beauty in her wedding dress that he actually had to take a step back and rest his hands on his knees after he saw her! Moments like this, filled with so much emotion and love, are why I love first looks!!
Once the ceremony was over and the marriage license was officially signed, the reception kicked off back in Plymouth in the atrium at The Inn at St. John’s. Nicole’s maid of honor gave the sweetest speech about the type of man Alex was and how she was so grateful that her best friend found someone who cared about her so much and treated her so well. Alex’s mom was the sweetest woman ever (and was actually the one who referred Nicole to me after she was struggling to find a photographer she liked), and had everyone alternating between laughing and crying during her hilarious, yet emotional, speech to her son and his new wife.
Nicole and Alex, thank you for trusting me to document the day you became husband and wife! Your love for each other shines so brightly and I’m so honored that you chose me to capture it for you. I hope you love your wedding photographs and enjoying looking through them and reliving your wedding day for years to come! Much love, Jen. xx
