Honora and Mac first met when their families were neighbors. Honora was 3 and Mac was 8. Their parents became fast friends and their families vacationed together. Mac had moved to Chicago and when Honora moved out there after she graduated from Michigan, her mom kept suggesting to her that she should meet up with Mac since he lived there too. It turns out that her mom knew best. Mac and Honora eventually fell in love and he surprised her by flying her parents and sister out to Chicago to witness the moment he got down on one knee and asked her to spend forever with him.
Honora and Mac were married this past Saturday at a beautiful Old St. Patrick Church wedding in Ann Arbor in the most beautiful Catholic ceremony. Mac looked so dapper in his classic black tux and Honora looked so graceful (I mean, she’s a dancer and my second Michigan dance bride!!) in her gorgeous beaded ballroom dress.
There were so many beautiful and emotional moments on their wedding day! One of my favorite moments was Mac’s mom tearing up as she walked her son down the aisle and gave him a hug before he walked up to his place on the alter to wait for his bride! I snuck a peek back and seeing the look on Mac’s face when the doors to the church opened and Honora and her dad started walking down to the aisle to him was another favorite moment of the day!
The party got started later in the night when Honora’s Maid & Matron of Honor (her sisters) gave literally the funniest toast I have ever heard at a wedding! Honor and Mac were dying laughing (and covering their faces during some parts) and their guests were roaring throughout the whole speech! I literally was laughing out loud behind my camera! Not to be outdone, Mac’s Best Man, his brother, said he didn’t know how he could follow the girl’s speech, but follow it he did! He gave a solid, hilarious speech that had everyone laughing just as much as her sister’s did!
Honor and Mac, thanks for allowing me to photograph the start of your beautiful marriage and walk alongside of you on this special day! I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness and joy every time you look back at these photos! Much love, Jen
