Beth and John got married last month in Downtown Detroit and I was so honored that I got to document day one of their marriage! From the moment I met with Beth at the wedding consult and saw her sweet and bubbly personality, I knew this would be a fun day and it didn’t disappoint!! There were so many laughs and giggles as she got ready and into her wedding dress with her mom, sister and bridesmaids helping her! One of my favorite moments of the day was when Beth’s dad saw her for the first time right before she walked down the aisle. When she made it to the front of the church where John was waiting for her, he had to wipe the tears from his eyes. It was another sweet moment that made me tear up behind my camera. I swear, I cry at every wedding! If the ceremony doesn’t get me, the toasts or the father/daughter dance always do! After a beautiful mass, we took some photos on the city streets of Detroit, before venturing over to Joe Louis Arena where Beth’s brother-in-law works. He runs operations at the arena, so we were able to take some photos on the ice. My favorite photo at the arena was when we were waiting to go into the Detroit Red Wings locker room from the player’s bench and Beth and John were just wrapped up in a little moment when I looked back at them. It was so beautiful with the stands above them and the arena behind them and I made him twirl her around and dance with her right there! That is probably the first time anyone has danced in the tunnel to the Red Wings locker room! After taking some more photos around Detroit, we headed over to the Garden Theater in Downtown Detroit for the reception! Let me tell you, the dance floor was rocking all night! Beth and John had a beautiful day filled with so much love and it was just another reason why I love being a Detroit wedding photographer!
