Caitlin’s first job when she moved to New York City was waitressing at a local restaurant while she looked for her first career job after graduating college. Several of her coworkers were friends with a guy who would stop in often. That guy was Andrew. He caught Caitlin’s eye and she eventually got to know him. He asked her out and their first date was spent strolling on a pier, chatting and getting to know one another. That same pier is where Andrew took her when he got down on one knee and proposed to her. Caitlin & Andrew were married at the end of August and I was so honored to be along to capture the day. These two New Yorkers picked Caitlin’s home state to get married in, complete with a Mackinac Island honeymoon! I had a blast with them in New York City last fall when we did their Central Park engagement photos and I was so excited to catch up with them again on their wedding day!
Caitlin & Andrew had an intimate wedding ceremony outdoors under a gorgeous open air chapel with beautiful arches framing them as they said, “I do”. One of my favorite parts of the day was turning back for a quick glance at Andrew and seeing the massive smile on his face as Caitlin walked down the aisle towards him! It was such a sweet moment and I just can’t resist sneaking a peek at the groom if there’s a long enough aisle! After their ceremony, we headed down to downtown Howell to take photos and we discovered some amazing spots! We found the cutest little alley way decked out with paper lanterns and streamers overhead and greenery and florals all around. it was a little oasis in the downtown hub of the city and the portraits there are my favorites from the day!
Caitlin & Andrew, thank you for choosing me to document day one of your marriage! It’s an honor I don’t take lightly and it was a pleasure getting to know the two of you and your families! I hope you love and cherish these photos and enjoy them for years to come! Much love, Jen. xx
