Courtney’s grandma had met Joe and hit it off with him. She just knew that he would be perfect for Courtney. Everytime she saw Courtney she would bring up Joe and ask when Courtney was going to go out with him. She kept giving her grandma the excuse that she “didn’t date redheads.” They finally met up at a party and Joe made Courtney laugh the whole time. She was living out of state at the time, but eventually decided to move back to Michigan. Joe heard she was moving back and realized this was his chance to go after her. He went on Facebook and started messaging her. They agreed to meet up and hang out and from there it took off! I met Joe last November when he emailed me about photographing his proposal to Courtney. He secretly planned the whole thing and took Courtney to the Belle Isle Conservatory for a date. While they were walking around looking at all of the plants and flowers, Joe got down on one knee and proposed to Courtney! The look on her face when he asked was one of my favorite moments so far with these two. We met up in downtown Detroit last week to take engagement photos and had so much fun, despite the hot and humid weather! We luckily wrapped their session just as the rain began to pour! They are getting married next April and I can’t wait to photograph their Detroit wedding!
