There’s definitely been a theme this past month of wedding season and it’s been having RAIN almost every Saturday! Even though the forecast showed rain was likely for most of the day, Mike & Melissa didn’t let that get their spirits down that morning as they were getting ready for the day ahead! After Melissa’s mom zipped her into her gorgeous ballgown dress (I was obsessed with all of the layers), she headed to the church where Mike was waiting from her at the end of the aisle to say I do. After taking some portraits on the churches covered porch while waiting for some of the weather to pass, we got lucky and had about an hour break in the rain to finish up the rest of their portraits! We headed over to Mill Race Village and there were the prettiest white rose bushes in bloom. I just love the way they look in black and white in the first photo below! Even though it was cloudy and we didn’t have a sunset, we snuck out from the Meeting House Grand Ballroom where their reception was held for some additional portraits in Downtown Plymouth and those are some of my favorites from the day!
One of the sweetest moments on Mike & Melissa’s wedding day was when Mike’s grandma greeted him after the ceremony and held his hand admiring his new ring. It was one of those little fleeting moments on a wedding day that you want to remember, but can easily forget. That’s the beauty of photography. Years from now, as you’re flipping through your photos and you get to that one, all of the details of that moment come rushing back to you and you get to relive it for a second. Another one of my favorite moments was their first dance. I don’t think the smile left Melissa’s face for a second while she was dancing with Mike and she was just beaming and full of love for him!
Mike & Melissa, thank you both for allowing me into your family for the day and trusting me to tell the story of your day. It was filled with so many sweet & beautiful moments and I hope that you love and cherish these photographs of the two of you and your loved ones celebrating your wedding day forever!
